Objectives and Assessments

National Curriculum

The National Curriculum sets out the knowledge and skills children should learn at each stage of primary school, ensuring a broad and balanced education for all pupils.

Statutory Assessments

Statutory assessments take place at key points in primary school to check pupils’ attainment and progress against the national curriculum, helping schools, teachers and parents understand how well children are learning.

Termly Assessments

Summative assessments are carried out three times a year in core subjects across the school. Results are tracked to ensure all children are supported, and progress is monitored through a combination of assessments, observations, and work reviews. These assessments help us see if children are on track with age-related expectations, and the data is reviewed by the Senior Leadership Team and shared with the Governing Body to guide short term and longer term improvements and action plans.
